The theme is "khandani nizam aur Qur'ani ta`limat" (Family system and the Quranic Guidance). At that occasion announcement and prize distribution will be made for essay writing on the same theme.

Report of the Seminar Organized by the Idarah Ulum al- Quran on
“Asr-i- Hazir ke Masail aur Qurani Talimat”
A two-day( 9-10th August,2008) seminar was organized by the Idarah Ulum al-Quran( Shibli Bagh,Aligarh) on “Asr-i- Hazir ke Masail aur Qurani Talimat” in the Conference Hall of the Dept.of Arabic,A.M.U. The inaugural session, held on 9th Aug., was chaired by Prof. Muhammad Najatullah Siddiqi and conducted by Dr. Abu Sufyan Islahi. After recitation of the Holy Quran by Qari Hamid Mian, in the opening remarks Prof. Abdul Azim Islahi spoke on the objectives and scope of the seminar and pointed out that how a seminar could be made more fruitful. Prof. Ishtiyaq Ahmad Zilli (Director of the seminar) delivered the welcome address and stressed the relevance of the seminar to the present scenario of the world and Prof. Zafarul Islam Islahi (Convener of the seminar) introduced the Idarah Ulum al- Quran and highlighted its achievements from different angles. Three books on the Quranic studies authored by Maulana Ashhad Rafiq Nadvi, Prof. Zafarul Islam Islahi and Abu Sufyan Islahi were also released in this session by Prof. S. Ehtisham Ahmad Nadvi, Prof. Muhammad Salahuddin Umari and Prof. Muhammad Najatullah Siddiqi respectively. The presidential address of Prof. Najatullah Siddiqi mainly focused on discussion about the important principles for the development of the understanding of the Quran. The vote of thanks was presented by Maulana Ashhad Rafiq Nadvi.
There were four business sessions of the seminar in which 14 papers were presented and in each session, presentation of papers followed by lively discussion. These sessions were presided over by Prof. Abdul Azim
Islahi, Maulana Sultan Ahmad Islahi, Prof. Masud Ahmad & Prof. K. Muhammad Yusuf Amin respectively. The compares of the sessions were Dr. Muhammad Rashid Islahi, Dr. Safdar Sultan Islahi, and Maulana Muhammad Arif Umari & Dr. Abu Sufyan Islahi Jamei. All the sessions were well- attended and the participants included the teachers and students of the different Depts. of the University and the scholars and researchers of the well- known academic institutions of Aligarh.
In the four sessions papers were presented on : Quran Majeed ka Nizam-i- Talim wa Tarbiyat aur Ahd-i- Hazir (by Maulana Muhammad Umar Aslam Islahi),Quran Karim se Husul-i- Hidayat- Taghayyur-i- Zamani ke Tanazur mein( Prof. K. Muhammad Yusuf Amin), Quran Majeed ka Taswwur-i- Insan( Maulana Nasim Zahir Islahi), Dawat-i- Din ki Asri Rukawaton ka Sadd-i- Bab Quran Karim ki Roshani mein ( Dr. Abu Sufyan Islahi), Ghalbah-i- Muslim ka Qurani Nuskhah-i- Kimia( Prof. Muhammad Yasin Mazhar Siddiqi), Quran Majeed mein Kamzor Tabaqat ke Huquq (Dr. Abu Sufyan Islahi Jamei), Quran Majeed ka Tasawwur-i- Adl aur Muasharti Amn wa Aman( Prof. Zafarul Islam Islahi), Qurani Talimat aur Zehni Tanaw( Janab Muhammad Riyaz Kirmani), Asr-i- Hazir ke Maashi Masail aur un se Mutalliq Quran ki Rahnuami( Prof. Abdul Azim Islahi), Maholiyati Buhran, Asbab aur Hall- Quran Hakim ki Roshani mein ( Prof. Masud Ahmad),Scientific Foundations of Quranic Ethics- An Assessment(Prof. Abdul Ali), Quran Karim aur Bainul Aqwami Taalluqat (Maulana Zubair Alam Islahi), Maujudah Daur mein Ruju Ila al- Quran ki Dawat- Inhirafat aur un ka Tadaruk( Dr. Muhammad Raziul Islam Nadvi).
The valedictory session was chaired by Maulana Muhammad Umar Aslam Islahi and conducted by Maulana Ashhad Rafiq Nadvi. Giving their observation about two days’ proceedings of the seminar, Prof. Muhammad
Masud, Prof. Abdul Ali and Maulana Muhammad Arif Umari congratulated the organizers of the seminar on its successful completion and they appreciated particularly their efforts for providing the bound copies of all the papers to the contributors and distributing the copies of each paper among the audience at the time of its presentation. The president of the session observed that it was a matter of pleasure and satisfaction that the products of Madrasatul Islah residing in Aligarh are contributing to develop the Quranic studies (which is the distinction of their Alma meter) through publishing books & Bi- annual Ulum al-Quran, organizing seminars and other academic activities. At the end, Director of the seminar Prof. Ishtiyaq Ahmad Zilli expressed his thankfulness to the guests & participants of the seminar, the staff members and students of the Depts. of Arabic and Islamic Studies, scholars and researchers from different departments of the university and adjoining localities for their sincere cooperation for making the seminar successful. The seminar came to end with the Dua of Maulana Muhammad Umar Aslam Islahi.

Idarah Ulumul Quran Seminar - Aug 2008
*Foundation of Head Office of Idarah
In view of the growing needs of the Idarah and complete inadequacy of the present accommodation, construction of a hall for the library and few rooms for the office have been taken up on a plot of land measuring 800 sq yard donated by one of the members and work is in progress. Donations for the purpose will be highly appreciated.
On 24th October, 2007, Foundation stone for Head Office of Idarah Ulum al-Qur'an was laid down at Shibli Bagh, Aligarh. The Idarah has already shifted to its new site from its temporary location at Sir Syed Nagar, Aligarh. The event was attended by an august gathering that included:

The event was also attended by Dr. Abdul Azim Islahi, Professor of Islamic Economics in Saudi Arabia (formerly in the Department of Economics, A.M.U., Aligarh), Mr. Shafiuddin Usmani and Bilal Usmani (Bombay), Prof. Moinuddin Islahi (Anjuman Islam Tibbiya College, Bombay) and Afzal Usmani (Austin Tx.).
The foundation stone ceremony was concluded with the dua by Prof. Saud Alam Qasmi and distribution of sweets.

*Qur'anic Sciences during the Twentieth Century
On July 26-27, 2005 a two day seminar was organised by the Idarah. A number of eminent scholars from Muslim religious and academic institutions as well as universities participated in it. They contributed research papers on various aspects of the developments taking place in the field of Qur'anic Studies, important
exegetical trends, contributions of various eminent Mufassirun as well as some of the debates that have been going on during the recent years in connection with the teachings of the Qur'an. Proceeding of the seminar have been published in a volume consisting of 532 pages.
