Future publication programme:
The following projects will be given priority.
1. A comprehensive bibliography of books and articles published in the area of the Qur'anic Studies.
2. A descriptive bibliography of the translations of the meanings of the Holy Qur'an and its exegeses published in important languages of the world.
3. An encyclopaedia of the Holy Qur'an and its sciences.
These are very important and big projects. They would require not only able and highly qualified researchers and scholars well versed in Qur'anic sciences but it will also need enormous financial resources.
Establishment of Reference Library of Qur'anic Sciences:
The importance of library for an academic and research institution could not be overemphasized. It was due to the realization of this importance that the task of building a library was undertaken at the very outset of the establishment of the Idarah. From the very beginning endeavour was to build it as a reference library of the Quranic Studies. By the grace of Allah efforts in this direction have started bearing fruits and in spite of paucity of resources a small but rich collection of books on the subject in Arabic, Urdu and English has been accumulated.
The library has a corner marked for the material relating to Mawlana Hamid al-Din Farahi and Mawlana Amin Ahsan Islahi. This includes both the books written by them and the literature produced about them. The library also receives a number of national and international journals in exchange of Bi-annual Ulum al-Qur'an. Some members have also lent their own collection of books particularly those relating to the Qur'anic Studies to the library for the use of the readers.
Scholarship Programme:
It was envisaged in the programme of the Idarah from the very beginning to arrange for the training and supervision of students to conduct research in the area of Qur'anic Studies and to provide for necessary stipends and scholarships for the purpose. With the help of some of our members it has been possible to run a programme for providing scholarships to three students to enable them to conduct study and research in the field of Qur'anic Studies.
Extension Lectures and Symposia on the Holy Quran:
The study and analysis of the issues confronting the Ummah and finding solution for them has been included in the programme of the Idarah Ulum al-Qur'an from the very beginning. This necessarily includes holding of discussions, lectures and symposia on these subjects.
Cooperation with the like-minded institutions:
In view of the mutual benefits that cooperation between like-minded institutions could bring to each other, Idarah Ulum al-Quran has laid emphasis on this aspect. As a result, the Idarah is in contact with a number of academic and research institutions working for the realisation of similar aims and objectives and it has proved to be very beneficial. Besides exchange of material of mutual interest, it is also opening new possibilities for the introduction of the Idarah and penetration of its ideology.
